As iTL’s R&D division works to discover and develop technologies to improve and expand our gene targeting services, we occasionally hit upon opportunities outside the scope of our customer focus. These opportunities are passed to a specialized team of R&D staff pursuing the development of the science to a stage appropriate to partner for collaborative development or licensing.

In addition, iTL welcomes inquiries from potential partners who believe in the potential for a complementary relationship with our gene targeting and custom mouse model production services.

Technologies currently under development include:

• Immunological assays. iTL has developed an ELISA kit and DELFIA assay analogues that measure the activity of novel, biomedically relevant receptors.
• Cosmeceutical compounds. Through a study utilizing zebra fish, a compound series was shown to be effective at preventing tanning. The series was proven safe in subsequent in vitro assays and human studies.
• Three dimensional animal behavioral tracking hardware and software as well as accompanying analytical software and methods
