Why Model Cd276

Cd276 is the mouse ortholog of human CD276 and encodes B7-H3, a member of the B7 family of immune-regulatory cell-surface proteins. B7-H3 has been associated with modulation of T-cell responses, though its receptor and precise roles remain under study.

B7-H3 is overexpressed on several tumors with limited expression in many normal tissues, and B7-H3-directed antibodies, antibody–drug conjugates, and CAR T cells have been evaluated; clinical results have varied. Cd276-deficient mice are viable with altered responses in some disease models.

Model Applications

Humanized CD276 (B7-H3) models, in which the human protein replaces the mouse counterpart, have been used to evaluate B7-H3-targeted therapeutics, including antibody–drug conjugates and cell therapies, in defined experimental settings.
