A Itgax knockout mouse has the Itgax gene permanently inactivated, enabling loss of function studies. A Itgax conditional knockout (floxed) mouse carries loxP sites flanking a critical exon of Itgax, allowing Cre recombinase dependent deletion in specific tissues or at specific timepoints. Itgax knockin models carry a precisely inserted sequence at the Itgax locus, useful for reporter, tag, or humanization studies. Itgax transgenic models carry additional copies of the Itgax gene for overexpression studies.
