A Nes knockout mouse has the Nes gene permanently inactivated, enabling loss of function studies. A Nes conditional knockout (floxed) mouse carries loxP sites flanking a critical exon of Nes, allowing Cre recombinase dependent deletion in specific tissues or at specific timepoints. Nes knockin models carry a precisely inserted sequence at the Nes locus, useful for reporter, tag, or humanization studies. Nes transgenic models carry additional copies of the Nes gene for overexpression studies.
