  Exon 2-5 of pah gene was deleted to generate pah knockout mice. The homozygous (HO) mice have a certain mortality rate (approximately 15%). Heterozygous (HE) mice are recommended for colony establishment. If you need to purchase homozygous (HO) mice directly for experiments, it is recommended to purchase an additional 15%-20% to avoid mouse death affecting subsequent experiments.

About Pah Mouse Model Types

A Pah knockout mouse has the Pah gene permanently inactivated, enabling loss of function studies. A Pah conditional knockout (floxed) mouse carries loxP sites flanking a critical exon of Pah, allowing Cre recombinase dependent deletion in specific tissues or at specific timepoints. Pah knockin models carry a precisely inserted sequence at the Pah locus, useful for reporter, tag, or humanization studies.
