Why Model CD79B
Cd79b is the mouse ortholog of human CD79B and encodes Ig-beta (B29), a subunit of the B-cell receptor signaling complex. CD79B pairs with CD79A and has been associated with assembly and signaling of the B-cell receptor.
CD79B is expressed on B-cell lymphomas, and a CD79B-directed antibody–drug conjugate is used in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Cd79b alterations affect B-cell development in model systems.
Model Applications
Humanized CD79B models, in which the human protein replaces the mouse counterpart, have been used to evaluate CD79B-directed therapeutics in defined experimental settings.
