Why model Braf
Braf, the mouse ortholog of human BRAF, encodes the RAF family serine/threonine kinase that couples RAS-GTP to MEK1 and MEK2 through an N-terminal RAS binding domain and cysteine rich domain, an autoinhibitory 14-3-3 clamped conformation, and an obligate side-to-side kinase dimer interface.
