Why model Palb2
Palb2, the mouse ortholog of human PALB2, encodes the physical bridge of the BRCA network: an N-terminal coiled coil engages BRCA1, while the C-terminal seven-bladed WD40 propeller docks BRCA2 and RAD51, delivering the recombinase to resected DNA ends, with a chromatin-association motif binding MRG15 and nucleosomes to license homologous recombination in transcribed regions.
