Ndufb5 is the mouse ortholog of human NDUFB5 and encodes the SGDH subunit, a single-pass membrane protein of the complex I membrane arm whose transmembrane helix packs within the ND module while its N-terminal region extends into the matrix, positioning it to stabilize the distal arm during assembly.
